The Towns of Northern Avalon, in many cases, still follow traditions, crafts, stories, and songs handed down through generations of seafaring people. The community names are well known both inside and outside in the province. Names such as Harbour Grace, Heart's Content, Heart's Desire, Dildo, Kelligrews, Topsail, and Cupids are widely recognized across Canada and beyond, while many others are known across the province. The Downloadalbe Tourism Guide describes each town in the order they are on Route 80, Route 70, Route 60 and other routes throughout the region.
